Portals

Portals 36 x 24 Acrylic on Canvas 2021

Art is about Process and Technique just as much as it is about the final product that we then dissect apart about the whys and whats, often neglecting the deeper importance of the how. As A technical painter I am studious and aware of my process at most times, often catering the stage of my workline to that of the moment or event, for instance, you rarely find me on the finishing details with a fine brush in my hand up front live painting at a music event, instead you will see see me with a fat brush “pushing pigment” and “slinging paint”, energetic and free of mind, letting the moment, music and flow of that creative cosom channeling through dictate the course of action. After that early stage where I have a nice base of paint all over the canvas, I move into my “smooshies” stage where I start growing the begins of my subject matter without much definition, and on this piece, Portals, that is were I stopped, and reverted back a few steps, going no further, the result was like clouds, were so many spectators saw things themselves in the swirls of space and color. I do Artwork to understand and explore the intuitive connection to universal language, much of my work is often like this, educating and almost scientific by using processes and technique to reveal deeper understandings.
