Acrylic on Wood with Lights 72″ x 49″ Currently a work in progress,
This is a collaboration with Abram Sudan and Christian Storm.
Our artistic process begins with a fascination for the surreal and fantastical, a feeling we translate into vibrant acrylic landscapes and light play. These works explore themes of exploration, isolation, and the vastness of space, depicting an alien world and solitary figure—an astronaut contemplating their surroundings. Our technique utilizes a dynamic layering process, building depth and texture through a combination of meticulous detail and expressive brushstrokes, a wood cut frame, fiber optics and LEDs. The vibrant color palette, rich with secondary colors, enhances the otherworldly atmosphere. This interplay of precision and spontaneity between the paint and the light creates a captivating visual experience, making this painting both captivating and thought-provoking. The enigmatic beauty of this imaginary world evokes a sense of both wonder and contemplation, encouraging viewers to reflect on humanity’s relationship with the universe and the profound mysteries that lie beyond our known reality. The careful interplay of color and form within each component guides the viewer’s eye, driving the narrative and amplifying the emotional resonance of the piece. Our goal is to leave the viewer with a lingering sense of awe and a curiosity about the unknown, much like the astronaut in the painting himself.
This Piece Will be framed in a solid black, with LEDs encased on the inside, as well as leds and fiber optics within the stars and cityscape of the painting itself
